Beta build coming soon!


Since the game toast build, I've been working very hard on implementing many of the new features I was hoping to add and many of these ventures have been a success!

Eight stages have been added, which makes the game look a thousand times more interesting than how it looked before. The characters really look like they're crossing over into different universes now. Each stage now has a matching music track to represent their home series as well!

Gameplay wise, I've also added a new survival mode! You fight an endless series of computer controlled opponents with limited health. The objective is simple, score KO's, get items to score points and keep going for as long as you can! This game-mode is inspired by the Survival modes from the Dead or Alive series and I'm very pleased that I've been able to recreate this mode in 2D form. 

Other additions include a revamp of the win screens for Player 1 and 2. These now have exclusive character sprites depending on who won which I'm glad I put the time into as it makes the game feel just that bit more complete. You also have the option of rematching or going back to the character select screen instead of just resetting the game like in the early builds. Before a survival and versus match, a new screen will now appear showing who's fighting each other and what the objective of survival mode is. On the versus intro screen, each character now has a new logo in the style of their series typefont/graphic design. These were a lot of fun to do!

I aim to release a beta build of the game hopefully next week. There are still a few more features/game adjustments I need to make before I feel it's ready but it'll definitely be worth it when the build(and the entire game) is finished. 

Feels great that the project has come this far, despite the hurdles that I've encountered when testing solo or out and about.
